Linux in the Park 2006

I've received an exciting email from Canada this weekend:

Hi free-penguinistas !
My names David Patrick, and I'm the head instigator at linuxcaffe.ca. We recently hosted the Toronto Linux Users Groups annual Linux In The Park event, and to kick it up good, I made a ten foot tux, using your pattern !
There were a couple of obvious modifications (sleeve for turbofan, exhaust holes) and a couple of subtler changes (head rounding, tummy-and-hip tucks, anchor points) but all in all, we were able to go from design to completion in under four days, thanks to your fine work.
Being a GPL adherent, we will be releasing all of our modifications, along with detailed instruction on preferred materials, how to layout/ enlarge the pattern, and assembly tips. I'm hoping you might find a spot on your site to post 'em.

Beak design

Disk Quota

Apparently our disk quota is reached, we could not upload the latest bunch of developmentfiles last night. However, we uploaded the pdf-files and hope that they will help. Until we find a solution, please ask for the developmentfiles via email. Sorry.

How I did a TUX - a 'field' report

We have the 'making of' document of Zorro by Rod. That shall help sewing your own Tux. Zorro by the way has been made using TUX patterns version 0.4. We provide the document as txt, pdf, html:

The making of Zorro teached a lot. We will have to update the todos, patterns and descriptions a.s.a.p.

Tux with Legs

We received pictures the other day showing that there are soft toy Linux® Tuxes with legs.

It should be much easier to actually sew those, for we don't have a proper method to make the ordinary three point sitting position yet...

News from our Secret Labs

We are currently working on our very first free implementation of soft toy tux. In fact right now we have a lack of yellow fabric, which puts the project in jeopardy. Anyway we are working on a solution and will come up with a tux very soon.
